We are seeking a RN Clinical Education Coordinator who will function as a collaborative partner with the patient care managers to promote optimal, cost effective patient care and to develop, support professional staff and create an atmosphere of life long learning. Primary responsibilities are to ensure successful strategies for ongoing staff development from novice to expert; to provide leadership for the quality improvement process and to provide leadership to enhance clinical practice given the changes in the health care delivery, innovations suggested by research and technological advances.
In this position you will:
Incorporate the role of the RN in care delivery into educational offerings. This includes conducting and documenting assessments, planning the care, implementing and evaluating the care given, including the spiritual, emotional and physiological needs of the patient
Develop annual educational plan in conjunction with the Assistant Administrator for Patient Care and Nurse Managers, considering staff learning needs, organizational goals for the year, other projects requiring staff training and financial resources available.
Incorporate patient safety and human factors theory in all clinical education. Is knowledgeable about organizations quality measures and incorporates into education.
Coordinate, monitor and evaluate competency-based orientation program
Identify staff learning needs and develops educational strategies. Plan, monitor and evaluate individual orientation programs.
Work in collaboration with regional education council in establishing goals for education program. Participate in shaping vision and strategic plan for Clinical Services.
Ensure the development and management of an integrated education program to meet the assessed needs of staff in the facility, considering availability of staff and resources.
Evaluate level of clinical practice of staff. Intervenes with programs and processes which produce quality patient outcomes and address staff and organizational needs.
Plan, coordinate and provide leadership for the participation in training programs.
Identify opportunities for innovative practice changes.
Provide leadership and coordination of educational activities.
Promote professional accountability and staff participation in all phases of the education process. Recognize accomplishments of teams and individuals.
Continually update knowledge of nursing practice, trends and issues, and actively seeks opportunities to apply this knowledge to clinical practice.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Master's Degree or current enrollment in Master's program to attain graduate education.
Coursework at the graduate level in adult learning theory within the first year of employment.
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon
BLS for Healthcare Providers and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
Five (5) Staff nurse experience.
Two (2) years experience in leadership role.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
