Providence Health & Services Registered Nurse - Quality Management Coordinator in Newberg, Oregon


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Quality Management Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, OR.

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday at Providence Newberg Medical Center. This location is a 40 bed hospital with approximately 540 caregivers. The leadership team is engaged and the executive team very supportive of this role. This hospital is the first Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified hospital in the country. The building location maximizes views and daylight for heating and cooling efficiency. Every patient room also has natural light.

Providence Newberg Medical Center is located about 40 minutes South of Portland and is close to wine country, great hiking, golfing and even an existing drive-in movie theater!

In this position, you will:

  • Provide assessment, evaluation and support for all quality initiatives within Providence Health & Services (PHS) Oregon.

  • Provide concurrent and retrospective support managing initiatives to comply and in accordance with Center for Medicare and Medicaid requirements, The Joint Commission (TJC)requirements, administrative and program personnel, and third party payors.

  • Actively work with physician leadership, Directors and Managers in the development and implementation of quality efforts, including preparation, risk monitoring and reduction in clinical and non-clinical systems, and coordination of multidisciplinary quality improvement projects.

  • Act as a facilitator and mentor for Department teams related to performance improvement.

  • Authorize and make decisions on recommendations and innovative solutions.

  • Serve as a resource and consultant for Quality Improvement activities and Professional Staff quality and peer review activities.

  • Assist in development and performance of educational activities as related to Quality Improvement, Accreditation requirements, and Resource Utilization.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing

  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the State of Oregon

  • 5 years of hospital experience in a progressively responsible position requiring contact with various departments

  • 5 years of clinical experience

  • Demonstrated evidence of self-motivation

  • High level of communication skills in order to clearly and concisely with all levels of Nursing, Administration, and Professional staff

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business, Healthcare or Business Administration

  • Adult medical surgical experience
