Providence Health & Services Registered Dietitian - Oncology in Newberg, Oregon
Providence is calling a Dietitian to Providence who will support our medical oncology teams. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE position). Schedule will be three days per week; two days working out of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and one day working out of Providence Newberg Medical Center. Exact schedule to be determined.
We are seeking a Registered Dietitian who will work closely with the departmental and interdisciplinary health care team to provide outpatient care that is integrated and compatible with patient-centered medical goals and objectives.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Utilize the Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) to assess nutrition status, identify nutrition diagnoses, perform nutrition-focused physical examinations, interpret results and make nutrition diagnoses.
Recommend enteral orders, design and implement nutrition care plans and evaluate outcomes of nutrition care plans for patients who are at nutrition risk or malnourished.
Provide medical nutrition therapy and professional nutrition counseling methods to patients, families and the community.
Apply evidence-based practice guidelines, instructional methods and tools in clinical practice.
Utilize nutrition-related information systems and patient medical record systems to successfully coordinate patient nutrition care.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition or related area granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university, or foreign equivalent
Dietetics coursework and supervised practice through a Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
License to practice as a registered dietitian in the State of Oregon
5 years' clinical nutrition experience with two years' of oncology-specific experience in Medical Nutrition Therapy
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Dietetics-related field; or degree expected to be conferred within 3 months
Board certification in oncology nutrition (CSO) or willingness to obtain certification within two years of employment.
