Providence Health & Services Emergency Department Supply Technician *Part-Time* in Newberg, Oregon
Providence is calling a Emergency Department Supply Technician - Emergency Services (0.6 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg , OR. You will work 12-hour shifts in this position (2 shift per week).
This is a temporary position (approximately 6-12 months) and a great way to get healthcare experience.

We are seeking a Emergency Department Supply Technician - Emergency Services that will provide technical support to the department by maintaining equipment, ordering supplies and stocking all areas that require equipment. Maintains equipment and supplies for emergency department operations. Maintains a safe, hazard free, clean environment, which facilitates quality patient-focused care. Cross trains within division to support stocking needs between units as needed.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Identify and maintain adequate par levels for stock supplied throughout unit:
Perform work assignments as requested by staff in a competent and willing manner
Stock rooms and orders supplies
Perform deep cleaning of specified equipment as needed (ie carts, other equipment, etc):
Task are prioritized appropriately in relation to the needs of the department and patients
Work expeditiously and quietly when stocking rooms, especially when occupied by patients and/or families
Communicate with purchasing and biomed departments for work and stock orders, both routine and special order items:
Routine and special orders are placed in a timely manner and ED needs are clearly communicated to biomed
Address ancillary / support departments politely and uses appropriate phone scripts
Restock specialty carts and trays as needed
Stock carts/lockers in patient rooms daily
Label instruments and maintains inventory log of instruments/equipment on the units:
Daily inventory of each specialty cart is performed, restocking and ordering of specialty supplies is completed in a timely manner
Keep equipment log up to date and accurate
Maintain and cleans department equipment used for care and maintains clean work area:
Capable of cleaning specialty equipment, knows how to handle all equipment safely and appropriately according to manufacturers suggestions
Initiate, monitor and follow-up on work orders for malfunctioning equipment
Keep supervisor/manager informed of status of equipment not in working order:
Maintain a list of non-functioning equipment, submits requisition for repair to appropriate department
Maintain department supply inventories
Place supply orders and checks status of outstanding orders to ensure unit supplies are available and in an efficient and cost effective manner
Rotate inventory supplies based upon expiration dates:
Safely and competently obtains and maintains par levels of necessary departmental equipment
Notify manager if par levels are at a critical low and works with distribution to resolve issues quickly
Assist staff with the acquisition of equipment in emergent situations:
Act as an available resource for ED staff – knows how to make contact and how to obtain equipment emergently
Required qualifications for this position includes:
- Experience with supply stocking, ordering, equipment cleaning and basic equipment maintenance
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Computer skills
