Providence is calling Certified Medical Assistant ’s (1 & 2) to one of our various acute care and clinical laboratory settings in the Portland Metro area. Providence Medical Assistants are placed into a Level 1, or 2 based on experience with specific skill sets and responsibilities. Candidates will be hired into openings based on these requirements and availability for the departments business needs.

We have full-time, part-time, relief or float openings and have 8 to 12 hour shifts available during day time hours (7:00am-7:00pm) with some of our clinics being open on the weekend. We are actively seeking candidates to join one of the following specialty, general practice clinics as well as have the opportunity for you to join a float pool where you can support various clinics within a specific geographic area.

Qualifications:
Required qualifications for the Medical Assistant 1 includes:
High School Diploma -OR- GED -OR-
Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or alternate training program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) accredited
Active National certification/registration:
Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA),
American Medical Certification Association (AMCA),
American Medical Technologists (AMT),
National Healthcareer Association (NHA),
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), -OR-
National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP) as a Medical Assistant upon hire and maintained -OR-
Graduate of schools for MA diploma/certificate from the military in Medical Specialist Course
Washington Locations: Active MA-I, MA-R, or MA-C, or to work in the state of WA. If in Active Interim Certification Status, applicant must pass one of the following exams within one-hundered and twenty (120) days of hire (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP)
Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)
Preferred qualifications for the Medical Assistant 1 includes:
Six (6) months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment
Six (6) months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR)
Required qualifications for the Medical Assistant 2 include:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Credentialing through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant program such as Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP)
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for the Healthcare Provider
Preferred qualifications for the Medical Assistant 2 include:
- 6 months of recent experience working as a medical assistant
